Most of this year has been filled with working on my upcoming entrelac book and teaching, two aspects of knitting that I truly love. However, during some of my teaching time, Kellie and I have been discussing the future of the Knitting Professors. The more we discussed it, the more we realized that we wanted to present two sides (at least) to each of our posts: an East Coast and West Coast perspective; a left handed and right handed point of view; an analytical and a creative commentary.
What resulted was our new blog that is currently under development. We realized that what we were talking about were two sides of the same stitch -- the knit and the purl! So, www.TheSameStitch.com is under development as the new forum for knitting thoughts, reviews, education and consideration.
What would you like to see discussed? To get started, we have decided on some themes based on the day of the week we are posting:

What would you like to see discussed? To get started, we have decided on some themes based on the day of the week we are posting:
- Mathematical Mondays: Gauge, design, yardage, any mathematical type topic
- Tech Talk Tuesdays: Fully reveal our inner knitting geek
- WIP Wednesdays: Discuss what is currently on our needles
- Think Tank Thursdays: Focus on our thoughts and opinions; review books and products
- Fine Finishing Fridays: Cast on, bind off, seams and such that really make the difference
- Sundry Saturdays: For any of the miscellaneous stuff we want to share
- Simply Inspirational Sundays: For the visual stuff

Hi Gwen - Marietta Thompson, here. I took your class a few years ago at Camp Stitches @ Lake Junaluska, NC. I attended classes (4, no 5) at Stitches South. So - very different venues. From just 1 students perspective: it's not just about the size of the classes - it's also the format. One could certainly take several classes from 1 instructor at the larger Stitches events. Don't know how that would be. But, for me having the smaller venue, more relaxed atmosphere of the Camps suits me better. At Stitches South, I took classes right through Sunday PM. I did this, as many others did from pure "hunger". The opportunity was just too wonderful to pass up. The over-stimulation just about did me in!! I don't believe the human brain is capable of dealing with so much creative energy & the heavy wool "fumes" that the larger event brings. I'm sure the larger events bring lots more money to the sponsoring organization, but for the knitter from out here in the "hinterlands" it is just very expensive, exhausting & a bit over the top. Having said all of that - I'll be at Stitches South again next year. I may take just a couple of classes - all from the same instructor (for comparison in both formats!) and plan 1 day just for the market. There's just so much an old gal can stand (LOL)!!
This blog looks extremely interesting - I'll follow you closely!
Best to you both!
Marietta
